Each “fighter” in the wing is actually SIX fighters. These are interesting as they are super small fighter squadrons. These are the standard pets you unlock with the Constitution Class Miracle Worker Flight Deck Cruiser. Tactical Flyer Squadrons / Tactical Attack Fighters At elite level they can use either BO or FAW and they have quite a few BOff abilities. They have 4 weapons bays with 3 beams and a plasma torp. I like them because they use holo-tech to mimic the enemy giving them a boost to defense and stealth. These are acquired with the Romulan Dreads but they are limited for use on those ships. This is a frigate level pet so you only get a max of two deployed per hangar bay. They are fairly sturdy and make decent use of the battle cloak to avoid NPC attacks. They are limited to use on the Klingon Vo’Quv carrier variants. I like these mainly because there is just something amazing about having the classic Bird of Prey as a pet. Bird of Prey (BoPs change as rarity rises) These are solid little pets, but they are limited to federation ships. ![]() I like that they also have beam overload, and on the advanced and elite you get aceton beam as well. They are equipped with a phaser beam array and an omni-beam. These are unlocked with the Buran Class Dreadnought or the Earhart Class Strike Wing escorts and their fleet equivalents. If they were unrestricted they would be much higher on this list. Unfortunately they are restricted to one ship, The Terran Styx Class Dreadnought. That said these in the upper versions offer a lot of abilities to go with the weapons. Carrier pets are not that tough, even at frigate levels. They use FAW which I don’t like as much on carrier pets because FAW tends to raise the threat level and draw a fair bit of fire. These are the most heavily armed pets with 5 weapons bays for the normal and advanced and 6 on the elite versions. It’s too bad they are limited to just the Breen ships. They are easy to get to five ranks in battle. These large carrier pets are limited to 1 per wing but they are quite sturdy. These are unlocked with any Breen ship and are limited to use on Breen carrier ships. Or you can make like Michael Bloomberg and buy one like it’s an election □ You’ll need Bloomberg levels of cash to gain one on the exchange. To get this unlocked you’ll have to get one of the ultra rare lock box Jem’Hadar escorts. They come in near the bottom primarily because they are difficult to acquire and then limited in their use. These might be handy as a tandem with a bay of Lost Souls. these are limited to use in Fek’lhri ships. ![]() The advanced and elite version are sporting 5 weapons, unfortunately tricobalt torpedoes, chroniton torps, and tricobalt mines are in three of them. The Kar’Fi is a bit of a crappy ship honestly, but these fiery frigates have some punch and a bit of staying power. These are unlocked with the KDF Fek’lhri Kar’Fi carrier. Unlocking them requires the Tzenkethi Miracle Worker dread. The get rapid fire and tac team increasing in strength with rarity. But the Tzenkethi frigates are tough and well armed. It uses dual cannons which I don’t like as much on pets because the AI isn’t the best at keeping targets in a narrow arc. This pet is usable on any carrier ship and as such it can be versatile. So without further adieu let’s take it from the top and start at the bottom with number 10. Full disclosure, I haven’t unlocked all of the available pets in the game, so if there is a really good one not on the list, it could be I don’t have them yet □ Comment below about your fav. ![]() It’s the TENTH Anniversary of STO so why not do some top ten lists! Seems legit.Ĭarrier pets are not something I utilize much but I do use them mostly with my aggressive engineers like my Romulan, Be’ina flying dreads like the Falcion and Klingon, Rodarorak flying a variety of dreads including Q’s Christmas gift the Fek’lhri Fe’rang.
